we serve a God of power
who is mighty, and will save
if we ask in His son’s name
anything we ask for
will be done
power. love. and truth.
we serve a God
whose name is love,
hallelujah
God be praised
no one can be a friend
a friend as close as Him.
no one can be as close
as the love you have for Him
so love on and don’t turn back
love the life this side of Heaven.
though we often seeing blindly
we are guided by His hand.
when we start to pray
don’t start to think
‘cause prayer is as you are.
don’t come before the throne
of God
except in honesty.
don’t hide behind the eloquence
just say things as they are.
God knows exactly
who you are
and what you say and do.
so don’t pretend
and play it well
because the
truth
will
set
you
free.

Don't hide behind eloquence. I agree.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading through A Praying Life and it talks about coming to God as a child. Don't come with all these words, speak the utter truth, simple words, one on one with God. Too often we have the fine eloquence of prayer, but our heart isn't there.
